Copyright in published articles remains with the authors. The authors grant the Publisher, the Eurasian Accreditation Agency (EAA), a non-exclusive right to publish the accepted article and to identify the “Asian Journal of Criminal Justice and Forensic Studies” as the journal of first publication.
Open access licence
All articles are published on an open-access basis under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).
Under this licence, published materials may be copied, distributed, shared, adapted and reused for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s), a link to the licence is provided, and any changes made are indicated.
Rights granted to the publisher
Upon acceptance of a manuscript for publication, the authors authorise the Publisher to:
- publish and distribute the article in electronic and, where applicable, printed form;
- make the article available on the journal's website;
- assign and register a DOI and prepare the relevant bibliographic metadata;
- submit the article and its metadata to indexing and abstracting databases, repositories, libraries and digital preservation services;
- convert the article into PDF, HTML, XML, JATS XML or other formats required for publication, indexing and archiving;
- maintain and preserve electronic copies of the published article.
These rights are granted on a non-exclusive basis and do not constitute a transfer of copyright.
Editorial and pre-publication preparation
The authors authorise the Publisher and persons acting on its behalf to carry out all editorial, linguistic and technical work reasonably required to prepare an accepted manuscript for publication, including:
- copy-editing and proofreading;
- correction of spelling, grammar, punctuation and typographical errors;
- language editing;
- standardisation of terminology, references and citations;
- formatting of the text, tables, figures, captions and references;
- typesetting and page layout;
- preparation and verification of author affiliations and bibliographic metadata;
- preparation of DOI metadata;
- conversion into publication, indexing and archival formats;
- other non-substantive technical or editorial modifications required for publication.
Such editing must not alter the scientific findings, arguments, conclusions or substantive meaning of the article. Any change that may materially affect the scientific content must be agreed with the authors before publication.
Minor linguistic, typographical, formatting and technical corrections that do not affect the substantive meaning of the article may be made without separate approval for each individual change.
Proof approval
Where proofs are provided, they are sent to the corresponding author for final checking. Approval of the proof confirms that the authors authorise publication of the prepared version.
At the proof stage, changes should normally be limited to the correction of production, factual or typographical errors. Substantial changes require approval from the Editorial Office.
Third-party material
Authors are responsible for obtaining any permissions required to reproduce copyrighted material belonging to third parties.
Where third-party material included in an article is not covered by the CC BY 4.0 licence, this must be clearly indicated in the relevant caption, credit line or other notice.
Acceptance of these terms
Acceptance of these terms is confirmed during manuscript submission.
