Why focus on Asia?
The journal places particular emphasis on Asia as a distinct region due to the evolving challenges faced by its diverse criminal justice and forensic systems. While global issues such as cybercrime and human trafficking are of worldwide relevance, Asia presents specific socio-political and cultural contexts that demand special attention. The region’s rapid economic growth, diverse legal traditions, and unique social structures drive the development of innovative approaches in criminal justice and forensic science. Moreover, many Asian countries face complex issues related to transnational crime, security threats, and the balance between modernisation and traditional legal practices. This regional focus enables a deeper exploration of these challenges and the production of contextually relevant insights that contribute to the global discourse on criminal justice and forensic studies.
